TO MAKE CABBAGE STRONG AND HEALTHY
To keep the cabbage strong and healthy, I use a time-tested remedy. In 3 liters of water I add a bottle of valerian and 1 tbsp. l. liquid soap. With the prepared solution I spray the cabbage contaminated with pests - and that's it, no one bothers her to grow anymore
And a month before harvesting the heads for storage, I spray the cabbage with spirits. To do this, pour 1 bottle of nashatar alcohol (40 ml) into a 5-liter bucket of water and add a couple of tablespoons of liquid soap. After such processing, there will be no pests.

The birth of the garden
A garden is an image of an ideal world, a reflection of a person's ideas about beauty and harmony. A DIY garden is, first of all, a manifestation of individuality. Each of us has our own vision of a comfortable garden. For some it is a joyful world full of luxurious bright flowers, for others it is a secluded corner surrounded by spreading trees, or a romantic fairytale forest filled with exquisite rare plants. Different characters of people, their moods and taste preferences, their life experience and everyday needs - all this forms the garden. Can gardens be good or bad? Yes, if we are talking about public gardens, which everyone should like, but a private well-kept garden is always good, because it is made with our own hands and not only strength, but also the soul is invested in it. Such a garden brings joy - and this is the main reason why it exists.
Sad is a doctor and confessor. It is to him, like no one else, that we can entrust our adversity, it is he who will comfort and distract from bad thoughts. A private garden is a revelation and, perhaps, the only place where a person, without hesitation, can bare his soul and share all the good that is in his heart.
Sad is a teacher and educator, and by no means soft, but demanding, and sometimes cruel. Every day he sets tasks for us and waits for their solution, makes us work hard and learn the secrets of mastery. The garden teaches us patience and humility, fosters in us a taste and a sense of proportion - it cannot stand negligence and fussiness, punishing them with the death of plants and painful shame for wasted time and energy.
The garden is alive! And this is the main thing that everyone who enters into a close relationship with him should know. Remember, you only own it nominally, but in fact, it is a family member with whom you not only live in the neighborhood, but coexist, which means that you take into account his interests. The garden allows you to create and experiment, provides a generous opportunity to enjoy its beauty, but in return claims to respect your rights and freedoms. In addition, he is by no means defenseless and takes cruel revenge for a rude attitude. The young garden is capricious, self-willed and jealous - it needs constant attention and does not allow to be distracted by rest. The adult garden generously thanks you for your work, but does not allow you to relax and forces you to strictly follow the rules of agricultural technology and maintain order. The old garden is wise, it is stronger than you, therefore it displaces labor-intensive and unnecessary plants, creates its own natural, natural compositions and graciously allows you to rest, accepting it as it does itself.
Let me help you create your garden. This does not mean that you should unconditionally follow all my advice. Moreover, I want you to improvise and create, equipping the garden according to your taste and understanding. Remember, if the garden brings you joy, then nothing should make you doubt the merits of your little man-made paradise.
Let's deal with the site. Plot received. Where to begin? First of all, do a soil analysis. Find out what is its acidity, what is the balance of basic nutrients and microelements. Find out what the qualities of the subsoil are. They can differ markedly from the properties of the surface layer. The subsoil can be sandy, clayey, peaty, stony - any, and the range of plants that can be grown here will depend on it.
Determine at what depth the water lies, find out if there is a seasonal rise in groundwater or stagnant surface water.
Consult with experts: are the conditions of the site favorable for gardening, and is it easy to eliminate the existing shortcomings. Remember, a "flower" or fruit garden can only be created on ideal soils with optimal watering.
Think about whether to radically change everything. All areas are different: one is shady, the other is sunny, one is embossed, the other is flat. And on each - specific soils and their level of moisture. Of course, the approach to the layout and composition of plants should be individual. The most rational design solution will be "adjustment" to the existing conditions and the creation of a composition corresponding to the relief, soil, degree of illumination and moisture. Such a garden is formed naturally, organically, and it will be easier to care for it. However, this statement is easy to dispute - many gardens with a unique character arise precisely in difficult areas. This is not surprising - the better the initial conditions, the easier the work, the less the desire to complicate your life, the worse they are - the more you have to fantasize and learn, and therefore create.
Each site always has its own "zest", and not to notice, and even not to use them would be a crime. The main value is the unusual relief. Unlike flat areas, relief areas allow terracing and the construction of decorative retaining walls. Especially organic are the terraces, reinforced with natural stone, laid by the dry masonry method.
The presence of the original components will be a great success: large boulders, marsh swamp, untouched forest. Each of them can serve as the basis for an independent composition.
Believe me, anything from an old greenhouse or a pile of debris can be tastefully played up and turned into an original accent unique to your garden. The vegetable garden may well become not only a spectacular addition to the garden composition, but also an original flower garden. To do this, it is quite rational and imaginative to place traditional vegetable crops, supplement them with ornamental plants, but the main thing is to keep it impeccably clean.
The true owners of the garden are beautiful trees. Destroying them is the same as depriving the garden of the soul - save them, because new plantings will not grow soon. If the site is old, then it may retain "historical" trees. Do not offend them - these plants have a memory, they are surrounded by a special aura that will facilitate the growth of a new garden. But seriously, adult plants will help you with planning - they always become dominants of new compositions.
The garden formed by a variety of coniferous and ornamental foliage plants retains an attractive image throughout the year; even a rainstorm cannot disturb its beauty.
Choice of style The layout and style of the garden depend on its purpose, so first of all decide what you want to have: an ornamental garden, a garden-vegetable garden, a garden for relaxation or something else. Flip through gardening magazines and books. Understand what you like, what suits your taste and lifestyle better.
Ask for a visit to the gardens of your friends, "try on" their gardens for yourself. Are you comfortable in them? Figure out what you like about them and what you don't.
Inspect your site and first of all pay attention to the relief.
If the garden is flat, it is a "white sheet" on which you can create whatever you want, including a formal (regular) garden. If it is hilly, this is even more fortunate, because the textured relief is an ideal platform for arranging a landscaped garden. It is quite possible that a corner of untouched forest has been preserved on your site, old beautiful trees are growing or large boulders are scattered - all this can form the style of a new garden.
Masking curtains, tree groups and paths allow you to divide the garden into isolated zones and create an original composition in each of them. For holiday destinations, the main thing is privacy and comfort, which is why neat paving, flowers and comfortable garden furniture are of particular importance.
Your own garden is a place to satisfy your gardening addictions. Often they are collections of rare flowers and mountain plants.
Utilitarian buildings can be very decorative, but they also require stylish design. The monotony of the walls can be masked with vines and flowers in flowerpots.

One bed of cucumbers provided the harvest for the whole summer. I share my experience
#greenhouses, #tomatoes, #cucumbers, #vegetables, #sadidacha, #useful tips, #the garden, #cottage, #garden, #seedlings
Greetings, dear reader, today I want to share my experience of growing cucumbers. I will try to advise, tell about what brought the result to me.
Cucumbers in the garden
Cucumbers are an unpretentious plant, it grows on almost all types of soil, but what kind of harvest will be on unprepared soil, I think you know.
I had plenty of time to experiment with varieties, soils, fertilizers, so it should be interesting.
Now, in order, I'll tell you about everything.
1. Variety of cucumbers.
This is perhaps one of the most important points. I tried a huge variety of options, my favorites were Alekseich F1 and Sankina love F1
I still give preference to Sanka's love, the cucumbers are small, crispy, and most importantly, you can harvest on one bush every day! From one ovary, according to my observations, about 8 cucumbers appear.
2. Soil and planting process.
I grew cucumbers in a greenhouse, the soil mainly consists of peat, sawdust and sod land. I can't say the proportions, but about 1: 1: 1. I planted seedlings to increase the likelihood of cucumber emergence. I don't really like to plant directly with seeds.
Well, firstly, after planting cucumbers, you need to make sure that there are as few weeds as possible. Secondly, do not forget to loosen the soil at least once a week. Thirdly, do not forget to water.
What to do with so much harvest?
The cucumber is suitable for both pickling and salads!
In summer, I really like lightly salted cucumbers. A couple of currant leaves, greens, cucumbers ... Oh, I remembered the taste, salivating already started to flow!
It was thanks to this variety that I was able to provide myself with cucumbers for the whole summer! The fruits are tasty, small, juicy! Therefore, if you have a choice, then I advise you to try this particular variety. The main thing is, do not forget to look after, after all, the cucumber is not some kind of dull, it just won't grow like that.
That's all, take care of your health, eat only natural products!
Subscribe to the channel so as not to miss anything interesting! Your like is my smile in the morning, and your comment is a joyful cry!

Garden disguise: playing hide and seek
Old foundations, massive monotonous fences, old buildings, sheds, compost heaps, places with all kinds of rubbish can spoil the look of a garden plot - and this is only a small part of the possible "unsightly" objects. But it does not always make sense to get rid of all this, purely for practical reasons, economic facilities are always needed. And if these are not frankly old, dilapidated structures, then they are successfully camouflaged. And also - there is an ugly view outside the site. And it often gets in the way, as it fits into the general view of the garden. After all, the site is difficult to separate from its surroundings, we cannot see selectively. Garden camouflage has two tactics: hide or decorate.
The "ugly look" has different options. Firstly, the very "natural" environment outside the perimeter of the site may not be very impressive: an empty field or an ugly ravine, a valley with weeds, a washed-out road, a drying tree, etc. But this is not the worst option, you can also see a neighbor's shed or toilet, a "warehouse" of building materials, or a high-voltage pole.
1. Close unwanted views
It is necessary to arrange tall trees and shrubs, as well as all kinds of garden structures so that, if possible, from various significant points of the site, as well as from the windows of your house, such "beauty" is not visible. It is worth noting that if you are masking an ugly look outside the perimeter and using trees and shrubs for this, you need to strive for a harmonious composition. In other words, use those views outside the site and which are visible from the site. This will completely mask the unwanted look. For example, if there is a birch nearby, the best thing is to plant several birches on the border of the plot, then together they will form a natural, pleasing to the eye and reasonable composition. Notice, not pines, but birches. If you use something atypical, then the eye will involuntarily be drawn to the object that is hidden by these atypical plants for this area.
2. Distract attention
Sometimes it happens that an unwanted view cannot be completely covered due to its location or if it is too large. Then there is only one way out: to distract, not to allow the gaze to concentrate on this view or object. To do this, you need to make your site emphatically decorative, at least with a few catchy, sometimes even bizarre elements and bright color spots. In a word, this is just the case when a certain "overkill", even "kitsch" is good. For example, a completely mirrored flower bed, a support for plants in the form of a huge floor lamp, a sculpture, or a fence for a flower garden made of colored concrete posts. As a result, the eye will be attracted to unusual, catchy elements, and, most likely, all unwanted species will simply be suppressed by them.
1. Plant the plants
It is best to combine perennials, especially flowering ones and those with decorative foliage, with climbing plants. For a fence, the best option is curly perennials. All you need is to attach the supports for them to the fence. In addition, the fence can be disguised as a parallel-planted hedge, a spruce or linden is perfect.
3. Arrange in some places a multi-layer fence
This means that the fence is, as it were, duplicated by some other, lower and purely decorative hedge, for example, a wattle fence, and with the third layer you can plant an even lower hedge. The principle is that all three hedges are visible at the same time and make the impression of a single hedge. At the same time, the volume characteristic of layering will appear, the effect is stunning.
5. Make overlays on the fence
The fence can be decorated by hanging numerous shelves on it (on which you can put containers of flowers) or by directly hanging pots of bright flowers. In addition, you can strengthen mirrors on the fence, hang empty picture frames, small decorative birdhouses, flat plywood figures, decorative overlays (bells, forged rosettes, lattices). You can combine several items together to create “modules” for the fence, for example, connect together a bright plywood circle, a picture frame and a flower pot or a frame and a birdhouse, and so on.
6. "Attach" various "additions" to the fence
You can "attach" gazebos, pergolas, seats, beautiful themed corners or flower beds to the fence.
If you are just starting construction, consider all the practical points in advance. Indeed, the garage should be located separately, and best of all at the entrance to the site, and the summer kitchen should be located not far from the house. The same can be said for the garden shower. Of course, in these cases, it is advisable to locate these buildings separately. You can design a structure with an unusual shape or with an original roof location. And if, for example, your small shed or cellar is "built" into the slope - this is a great opportunity to stylize it "like a grotto"!
If the buildings already exist, they are solid and it is impossible to somehow combine them - decorate!
1. Cover them with vertical gardening or hide them behind the scenes of green plants, behind hedges, behind a pergola or trellis.
3. Repaint or paint. You can completely cover your barn with patterns, or paint all or one wall a different color. It will act as a background or screen for your invented exposure. For example, one wall can be painted in a very dark color, and then tall bright flowers planted around the perimeter of the barn will look especially advantageous against its background.
5. Make inlay on the wall of the outbuilding. Lay out one (or more) walls of a barn, summer kitchen, workshop, etc. mosaic from colored broken ceramic tiles and dishes. You can make an abstraction, or you can lay out some kind of drawing, ornament.
7. Make false "windows" on the wall of the building. Make them from picture frames, paint them brightly and attach a pot with a bright flower to each of these windows.
9. Decorate ... ..with wood. For example, the best decoration for a wood shed is the wood itself. Simply completely cover one or three of its walls with woodpiles of firewood, leaving "niche-windows" in the firewood.
12. Arrange a voluminous "still life". This method differs from a wall "exhibition" in that it is three-dimensional. For example, you can use the wall to hang some objects, put a table with some kind of composition next to it, large containers with plants and bouquets with dry plants, and even a mini-bench. You will be able not only to beat a boring structure in an unusual way, but also create a nice resting corner.
